Yes, we do mail-in caricature! Prices start at $35 for one person in color, $45 for two people in color. (Special additions like vehicles, situations, etc., can up the price depending on complexity.) Groups larger than two are simply $10 more per additional person. Postage and handling is included in that price. Turnaround depends on how many are in the pipeline, but it usually takes under a week!

And by all means, let us know if you have a caricature emergency and need overnight shipping.

MC and Sam by Robert Sundin

First, gather a good photo (or two) of the subject. It should be a clear picture, and the face should be at least the size of a quarter. The expression on the photo is what you’ll get on the caricature, so choose accordingly. In other words, you can’t send us a photo of your friend looking angrily at the camera and say “just put a smile on him.” It takes seventeen facial muscles to smile, and don't forget dimples and teeth! In short, everyone smiles it a little differently--so guesswork on something that unique can wreck a likeness. Same with the hairstyle, give us what you want to see.

For emailed photos, the file should be large enough for us to print and use. If the photo looks great on your cell phone but prints at a postage-stamp size when you load it onto your computer, we’ll need something bigger. A good-sized photo file usually measures around 400 x 600 pixels and takes a little over 100 KB of space. We’ll let you know if we can work off the photo or not, but knowing what we need will help you (and us) avoid a lot of back-and-forth emails!

The cariacture will be aibrushed in acrylic paint and sent to you in a mailing tube, ready to frame. The paper measures 11 x 17 inches, which is a standard frame size you can purchase pre-made from most framing shops.

Just e-mail us with your request and attach the photo as a jpg; those of you who prefer can always snail-mail photos to our post office box, but be aware we can’t guarantee their safety in the mail (hint: send a duplicate, not your only copy of your favorite photo). Last of all, let us know if you have a preference as to who draws your caricature. If you got a flyer from our live location at the Aladdin and want the same artist, just let us know--it’s easy to tell who is who: Celestia is the girl, Robert is the guy. Celestia’s work tends to be whimsical and cute, and will certainly please. Robert’s is equally skilled but tends to be more edgy and strong. It just depends on what you prefer (and what you can handle). Think of it as mild salsa versus extra hot.
